The Situation
Imagine, if you will, you just had a great date with a lady met recently while at your favorite coffee place, everything went better than you could have imagined it would; you even tell your friends that you both had a connection BUT you have yet to hear back from her since you last communicated via text and you are not quite sure why?
Let me clue you in on something; chances are you may have broken the etiquette of texting. Don’t believe me? You can ask any one of your guy friends who will tell you that you have just done this.

- Psycho-ish Texter
She woke up and saw a wake-up text from you that you sent before the sun even rose. This is not something you should do after just one date; do not be too eager, slow the train down a little. If you are meant to go on a longer commute with her, it will happen.
- Giving a Pet Name Texter
If the first text you send after the first date contains a pet name, even if it is something that you think it simple and nothing pushy, take that thought your brain is producing as a clue to not drop the pet name thing this early in the game. After all, you have only had one date and you really want to keep things as casual as possible.
- The Novel Texter
Simply put, do not do this! If you are sending endless text messages that are more like novels than texts, you must scale back; remember, LESS IS MORE!
- Over-Aggressive Texter
If you send 1 or 2 text messages and she does not answer, whatever you do, DO NOT keep texting her. Unless you have a crystal ball that can show you where she is and what she is doing; as well as why you have yet not gotten a return text message, chances are she may be busy or just does not have the time and she wants to give you more of a reply than just a few words. Either way, let her be for the time being; do not attack her with text messages, it will only push her away that much further.
- Pushing Another Date Texter
Your date went so well that at one point before the date came to an end and your took her home, you asked her if she would like to see you again later on in the week but she said she was super busy and would like to set something up for the weekend; while you seemed fine about this and kept your cool, you did not respect her words and messaged her asking about going out to dinner on Thursday. If you do not listen to her, how can you expect to hear her? Listen to what she is saying, respect it and allow her to get in touch with you, when she is not as busy, and set something up then. It really is as simple as that.
