It’s always been more socially acceptable for an older man to date a younger girl but the trend is fast reversing.
The older man is now finding he has to compete with the younger, fitter, more virile “cub” . The younger men jump at the chance to date a more experienced woman who doesn’t come with the usual hang-ups and insecurities.
These cougars are usually divorcees with a high disposable income who dress well and look after themselves. They were nicknamed “cougars” as they tended to dress in leopard skin outfits!
Men reach their sexual peak in their early 20s but women don’t slow down until their mid 40s, so it’s easy to see why cougar relationships work so well. Being desired by a handsome young man is a huge ego boost and helps make the woman feel young.
It’s important to both be very clear about what you are looking for from the start. It may be that the man will want to start a family one day so commitment isn’t usually high on their priority list. You need to learn not to get too attached and be able to move on to the next man.
If you want to bag yourself a younger man you need to be able to keep up with the pace. You’ll find that other people will comment and make jokes about your relationship but you should ignore them. Life is short so why shouldn’t you have as much fun as possible?
